Safe Haven Education is a workplace training and policy consultancy specialising in domestic abuse awareness and coercive control. The business is operated by Deniz Erdem, trading as Safe Haven Education.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Deniz Erdem, trading as Safe Haven Education, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of delivering training and consultancy services.

• Organisation name

• Business email address and telephone number

• Enquiry or message content submitted through our contact form or by email

• Payment information (processed securely by third-party payment providers- we do not store card details)

• Feedback and evaluation responses following training delivery

2.2 Data collected automatically

• Website usage data including pages visited and time spent (via Google Analytics or equivalent)

• IP address and browser type

• Cookie data (see Section 8)

2.3 Sensitive data

Safe Haven Education delivers training on domestic abuse and coercive control. In the course of training or consultancy, individuals may voluntarily disclose personal experiences relating to abuse.

Where such information is shared, it will be treated with strict confidentiality and handled sensitively. Safe Haven Education does not actively collect special category data unless it is voluntarily disclosed.

Information may only be shared where:

• the individual has given explicit consent,

• there is a safeguarding concern involving risk of serious harm, or

• disclosure is required by law.

• To respond to enquiries and provide information about our services

• To deliver training, consultancy and policy services you have purchased or requested

• To send our newsletter, The SHE Briefing, where you have subscribed

• Contract: where processing is necessary to deliver services you have requested

Safe Haven Education does not sell, rent or trade personal data. We may share data with:

• Specialist support services, with your explicit consent, in the event of a safeguarding disclosure

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

• Enquiry and contact data: 2 years from last contact

• Client and financial records: normally retained for 6 years in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements.

• Newsletter subscriber data: until you unsubscribe

• Training evaluation data: 3 years, in anonymised form after 12 months

• Website analytics data: 26 months (standard Google Analytics retention)

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you

• Correct inaccurate data

• Request erasure of your data (the right to be forgotten)

• Object to or restrict processing of your data

• Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis for processing

• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
